Rickey Harold "Rick" Parks of Locust Hill left to be with the Lord the morning of Thursday, May 7. He was 59. A 1974 graduate of North Pontotoc High School, Rick was co-owner of Tri-County Pest Control and an active member of Belden Baptist Church. The weekly ministry at Tupelo jail was a passion. His hobbies were his land and cattle. But his true pastime was fellowship with friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Athen Parks of Locust Hill; mother, Joyce Parks of Locust Hill; son, Rusty (Tomie) Parks of Hutto, Texas; daughter, Nicole (Brad) Taylor of Marietta; and grandchildren, Siera, Molli, Maddi and Marshall "Yote." He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Parks, and two grandsons. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at W. E. Pegues Funeral Home, 535 W. Jefferson St. in Tupelo. A Celebration of his life will start at 3 p.m. Memorials should be sent to Filippino missions via [email protected] or March of Dimes in memory of Rick's grandsons, Tanner and Hunter Parks.
