RICHARD JOHN ROUSE
Saltillo - Richard John Rouse, 81, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A Staten Island, N.Y., native, he was born Jan. 28, 1925, to the late Nathaniel and Lillian Haniman Rouse. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in industrial engineering. He was a member of Faith Outreach Ministries. He was in the Army Air Force during World War II as a fighter pilot. He was an avid golfer with a passion for the sport and an unprecedented love for his wife, Shirley.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Shirley Robbins Rouse of Saltillo; four sons, Tim Rouse and wife, Catherine, of Arlington, Tenn., Greg Rouse and wife, Kathy, of Denver, Colo., Dr. Jeff Rouse of New York, N.Y., and Steve Rouse and wife, Judie, of Mandeville, La.; nine grandchildren, Amy, Davie, Joey,Tonya, Chris, Lindsey, Matt, Jake and Anna Beth; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Warren Rouse and wife, Joy, of Burlington, N.C., and Bob Rouse and wife, Betty, of Califon, N.J.; several nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, Bill Carter of Tupelo.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until service time.
