Richard D. Hunter
Tupelo- Richard Dean Hunter, 81 passed at the Veterans Home in Oxford on Saturday, March 31, 2018. He was born in Newton, Kansas on June 24, 1936, to Lynford Clinton Hunter and Jessie Marie Southworth Hunter. Richard served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 49 Tupelo and a life member of the V.F.W., Post 921 in Newton, Kansas. For the majority of his life, Richard was a farmer. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Hunter and his wife, Anita of Mooreville, Mitch Hunter and his wife, Ramona of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, Drew Hunter of Pontotoc, Whitney Hunter of Pontotoc, Allison Hunter of Pontotoc, Ashley Clowers and her husband, Kory of Pontotoc and Laken Hunter of Mooreville; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Karen Dennett of Newton, Kansas; one brother, Gary Hunter and wife, Bev of Newton, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Marcie Ghadban.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Lynford Clinton Hunter and Jessie Marie Southworth Hunter.
Services for Richard will be private.
