RICHARD HOUSTON Tupelo - Richard Lee Houston, 64, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1948 in Tupelo to Robert G. and Katherine Houston. He retired from the Tupelo Fire Department after twenty years and then worked for S & W Welding Supply for twenty years. He was a thirty second degree Mason at Richmond Lodge and a member of the Terry Guin Ole River Deer Camp. He loved hunting, fishing and being at home by the lake. He was a member of Gilmore Methodist Church. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Douglas Kitchens officiating and Bro. Buddy Rushing assisting. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of twenty-one years, Diane Houston of Tupelo; one son, Lee Houston (Sara) of Mebane, North Carolina; five bonus children, Dave Eckert, Blake and Brad Pressley, Webb Lyle and Amanda Williamson (Nate); four grandchildren, Riley Houston, Mary Ashley Houston, Farrah Williamson and Alice Williamson; his mother, Kathryn Houston of Tupelo; mother-in-law and best friend, Elese Hinds of Kirkville; one bonus mother, Charlene Pierce of Tupelo; brother Roger of St. Petersburg Florida; sister Amanda Trent (Ken) of Mooreville; sisters-in-law Kaye Lyle, Sandy Pressley (Bob), brother-in-law Bill Hinds; several nieces and nephews; two very special great nephews, Cade and Cody Long. He was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Darlene Houston; two sons, Davie and Chad Houston. Memorials may be made to Gilmore Chapel Methodist Church, Building Fund, 710 Gilmore Chapel Road, Marietta, Mississippi 38856.
