Ree Twitty Hester

March 22, 1969 — May 17, 2014

REE HESTER Belden - Ree Twitty Hester, 45, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. Ree loved Jesus and loved her family. Ree was active in the ministries of her church family at Harrisburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed studying God's word in Bible studies with other ladies where she often offered valuable insight and wisdom for real life living. She enjoyed spending time with friends for early morning runs and used those times as an opportunity to encourage those friends. Ree loved to laugh and always created the laughter with her uncanny ability to offer a witty comment followed with an facial expression to affirm her humor. She was fun and liked for others to laugh with her. She was a true encourager to all who knew and loved her. Ree especially loved being a wife to her "man" of almost twenty years and mother to her three sons, who were her pride and joy. Ree graduated from Tupelo High School and completed her undergraduate degree at Mississippi State University. She completed her Master's degree in counseling at Mississippi College. In recent years, Ree worked as a counselor in the Tupelo Public School District at Carver Elementary School and Tupelo Middle School. She also taught in the Jackson public school system. She treasured her opportunities to serve kids as a school counselor and used those opportunities to minister to students and parents as well as her co-workers. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2014, at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Rev. David Langerfeld and Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. A private family graveside service will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Ree is survived by her husband, Chris Hester of Belden; three sons, Reese Hester, Beck Hester, and Hamp Hester of the home; her parents, Charles and Edna Twitty of Tupelo; two brothers, Richard Twitty (Lisa) of Ramer, Tennessee and Russ Twitty (Rhonda) of Madison; three nieces, Mallory Holt (Nick), Mary Ashton Loftin, and Kirksey Taylor; eight nephews, Madison Twitty, Hunter Twitty, Jackson Twitty, Hayden West, Sanders West, Noah West, Reed Taylor and Graham Taylor; her in-laws, Steve and Martha Hester; two sisters-in-law, Stephanie West (Peter) and Michelle Taylor; and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Harrisburg Baptist Church.
