Tupelo - Rebecca Elizabeth Brown Wilson, 92, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Green Houses at Traceway after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born September 8, 1917, to James Louis and Cordelia Elizabeth Mitchell Brown. She was retired from Purnell's Pride. She enjoyed cooking, making crafts and needle work at the Senior Center where she was the oldest member and longest attendee. She was the widow of Roy Woodrow Wilson. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church until her health failed.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bob ONeal officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Wilson (Bill) Whitt of Old Union; six grandchildren, Teresa Mason (Greg) of Chesterville, Donny Kelly (Penny) of Chesterville, Jimmy Adams (Kathy) of Amory, Marcy Rock of Okolona, Pam Blissard of Mooreville, Charlie Beth Whitt of Old Union; 15 great-grandchildren, Laurie Fowler (Travis), Melanie Enis (Jimmy), Kellie McLellen (Nathan), Emily Mason, Casey, Justin, and Austin Kelly, Jeremy and Taylor Adams, Jamy and Brittany Jones, Laura Beth Blissard, Mandy Rose Blissard, Katherine Cordelia Rock, and Mary Grace Rock; 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her daughter, Shirley E. Davis; two brothers George Brown and Andy Brown; and two sisters, Mattie Brown and Vida Addison.
Pallbearers will be Justin Kelly, Austin Kelly, Jeremy Adams, Nathan McLellen, Travis Fowler, and Jimmy Enis
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members and past and present staff of Lee County Multi-purpose Senior Center.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
