Raymond C. Montague, age 73, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2014. He was a Tupelo High School graduate, class of 1959 and in 1963 graduated from Mississippi State with a B.S. Degree in Transportation. He retired from Rockwell International and American Furniture and was a member of Cason Baptist Church. Ray was an active member of NRA and an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming with his special friends, Jimmy Barnett, Mitchell Worthey, Ken Ranager, and Jimmy Robbins. He leaves wife Kathy of 31 years; mother, Hazel; half sister, Evelyn; children, Cheryl, Beverly, and Scott, stepchildren; Chris (Sandi) and Michele (Israel); grandchildren, Ty, Cale, Clay, Kaleigh, Sophia, and great granddaughter, Aubrey. He was preceded in death by father, James Montague; uncle, Charles Lehman; grandson, Monty Nichols and grandmother, Ester Payne. Pallbearers will be Chris Turner, Israel Wren, Jimmy Rollins, Mike Rollins, John Baker, David Baker, Robert Baker and John Barnett. Visitation will be held at W. E Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo, MS on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 4-8 pm. Service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E.
