Ray Gregory

Saltillo- William Ray Gregory at the age of 71 died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at his home at Courtyards Community Nursing Home. He was born April 6, 1951 in Tupelo to Dorris O. Gregory and Maxine Irene Johnson Gregory. At a young age it was obvious Ray was special. Although different from most, he enjoyed a fulfilled life. He enjoyed puzzles, putting together thousands in his lifetime, playing with baby dolls, and coloring in coloring books. He attended Auburn Baptist Church with his mother.

Ray is survived by his mother, Maxine Gregory of Saltillo; his cousins, Nancy Tucker of Pontotoc, Barbara McCarty of Brewer Community, Martha Bailey and her husband, Jerry of Verona, and Obey Newcomb and his wife, Patricia, of Fulton; he has numerous second cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, David Gregory.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring his life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Bob O’Neal officiating. Graveside services will follow at Keyes Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Tucker, Colby Tucker, Nicholas Tucker, Jon Tucker, Obey Newcomb, Michael Dickerson, Clark Tucker, and Donney Pearce.
