Saltillo - Randy A. Wheeler, 52, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at the Memphis V.A. Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Michigan City, Indiana, he was born April 25, 1957 to William Curtis and Patricia Ann Westphal Wheeler. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked many years for Gibson Container and later drove a dump truck until his health failed. He was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching football, boating and water skiing. He was known for his free spirit and love of the outdoors.
Memorial Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Winters officiating.
Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Wheeler of Guntown and Brittney Carrillo Wheeler of Saltillo; the mother of his children, Darlene Wheeler of Guntown; two sisters, Sherry Sims (Pat) of LaPorte, Ind. and Brenda Brooks of Saltillo; one brother, Michael Wheeler (Dennis) of Phoenix, Ariz.; one niece Michelle Sims of Lake Piomingo; his best friends Thomas Graham of Dorsey and David Clark of Saltillo; five grandsons, Dylan Garrison, Jasob Garrison, Hunter Keith, Brayden Keith, and Hilario "Lala" Carrillo; his parents, W.C. "Dub" and Patricia Wheeler of Lake Piomingo.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to service time at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
