QUBELL YOUNG KIDD
Tupelo - Qubell Young Kidd, 84, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Mississippi native, she was born September 16, 1921 to the late Wiley Lee and Jake Mask Young. She worked for many years as a seamstress in the garment industry. She was a member of Chesterville Calvary Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wesley Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc County.
Survivors include her ten children, Earl Kidd and Sarah, of Shannon, James Kidd and Fay, of Tupelo, Billy Rex Kidd and Linda, of Shannon, Robert Kidd and Brenda, of Tupelo, Jimmy Lynn Kidd, and Ellen, of New Augusta, Ricky Kidd, Shirley Hughes and Wayne, Beverly Jane Stidham and Stanley, all of Tupelo, Patsy White of Nettleton and Peggy Davis and Ken of Southhaven; two sisters, Polly Whitten Hall of Belden, Maxine Merritt, of Thaxton; three half sisters, Fay Mays, Barbara Kidd, both of Pontotoc, and Patsy Smotherman, of Memphis, Tenn; two half brothers, Jerry Young and Larry Young, both of Pontotoc; 26 grand children, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bollen Kidd who passed away in 1981; five sisters, Wilma Young, Imogene Pickering, Francis Young, Jesse (Deuetch) Tackett, and Blanche Tackett; and four brothers, Joe Young, Audie Lee Young, Ivy Young and James Young.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kidd, David Kidd, Jerry Kidd, William Kidd, Mitch Hughes, Mark Hughes, Chris McKissack.
Honarary pallbearers will be Jackson Moore, Danny Kidd, Jody Kidd and Josh Smith.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
