Presley Wallace

September 28, 1989 — January 6, 2008

Tupelo - PRESLY THORNTON WALLACE, JR., 18, died Monday, January 7, 2008, at his home. He was born in Tupelo September 29, 1989 to Presley Thornton and Kathy Slack Wallace. He was a senior at Tupelo High School and a member of the THS Championship Soccer Team for the past four years. He enjoyed serving as assistant coach with the U-11 Boys TFC soccer Team and was chosen Volunteer of the Year for the Tupelo Sports Council for his volunteer work with TOPS Soccer and Basketball for handicapped citizens. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends and was also an avid hunter and loved spending time at the duck camp with his cousins, uncle, dad, and friends. He was loved by all who knew him for his ready smile and caring heart.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tom Groome and Rev. Ann Houston Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Presly and Kathy Slack Wallace and his sisters, Amanda Kathryn and Abigail Miles Wallace, all of Tupelo; his aunts and uncles, Al Wallace, III and wife, Rochelle; Kathy Wallace, Kate Wottowa; and his cousins, Al Wallace IV, and wife Tisha, Taylor Gurley, and Emma Claire, and Gray and Katie Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Al Wallace, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Slack.

Pallbearers will be Trace Nabors, Hunter Bower, Cecil Hinds, Chris White, Matt White, Bill Dickerson, John Gatlin, Cole Randle, McKenzie Copeland, and Weston Roberts

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Tupelo High School Soccer Team.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Pegues Funeral Home, and 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2008, prior to service at First Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to Tupelo Youth Soccer Scholarship Fund or the Youth Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, 400 Jefferson St., Tupelo MS 38804.
