Prentiss Pearson

Tupelo - Prentiss Doyle Chip Pearson, 80, died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Lee County, he was born September 27, 1930 to William Monroe and Ilaree Smith Pearson. He attended Lawhon School and was a graduate of the Dale Carnegie School of Business. He was Retired from Mid South Packers after 32 years as a Sales Rep., and for the past 17 years worked in auto sales. He was known as the bubblegum man to many, Pop to his family and for picking up any coin he found on the ground. He loved his dogs especially "Delbert", and he never met a stranger. He was a member of Skyline Church of Christ.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Al Franks officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include one daughter, Angie Pearson Cooper, fiancee Mike Riggs, of Tupelo; two sons, Dewayne Pearson (Louise)of Tupelo, Brian Pearson ,fiancee Elaine Spain, of Tupelo; one sister, June Pearson Franks (Bro. Al Franks) of Kosciusko; two grandsons, Josh Pearson (Paula) of Olive Branch and Luke Pearson (Kristi South) of Tupelo; a granddaughter Brandi Saucier (Clint) of Biloxi; four great-grandchildren, Emily Pearson, Blakleigh Pearson, Tyler Pearson, Aldyn Saucier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann Laura Pearson who preceded him in death in 1974; two brothers, Hoyle Pearson and Jimmy Pearson; one sister, Hazel Pearson .

Pallbearers will be Josh Pearson, Luke Pearson, Kenneth Pearson, Philip Franks, Stephen Franks, Paul Franks, and Mike Riggs.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends at Shockleys Resturant and friends at the Meadows.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
