Polly Towery Phillips

Guntown – Polly Ann Towery Phillips, 74, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center. On May 30, 1944, she was born to Deach Towery and Elizabeth Henderson Towery. She graduated from Saltillo High School. Polly worked as a Nurse’s Aide for Cedars at Traceway Retirement for many years before becoming a Manager at Saving’s in East Tupelo where she retired after 18 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Green of Guntown; grandson, James Goodin and his wife, Macei of Falkner; three great-grandchildren, Maddye Goodin, Jameson Goodin and Owen Goodin, all of the home; niece, Michelle Karpovich and nephew, Michael Towery and their mother, Beth Towery.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Deach Towery and Elizabeth Towery; two sisters, Peggy Towery and Patsy Towery; and brother, Paul Towery.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Ray Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Saltillo Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Saltillo.
