Tupelo - PIERCE C. ROBERTS, JR., 40, died Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Trace Lake due to a drowning accident. A native of Birmingham, Ala., he was born June 17, 1967 to Pierce and Brenda Roberts. He worked as a car hauler for 21 years. He enjoyed four-wheeling, camping, water sports, and spending time with his family. He was a Baptist.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mike Todd officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Roberts of Tupelo; his parents, Pierce Collel Roberts, Sr. and Brenda Joyce Roberts of the Evergreen Community; eight children, Jesse Roberts of Fulton, Josh Roberts and wife, Courtney, of Marietta, Brittany Roberts of Peppertown, Keisha Roberts of Guntown, Katie, Jennifer, Zach, and Blake Roberts all of Tupelo; two step daughters, Sonya Reed and Shea Bichler both of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Dominique Reed of Tupelo, Landon Roberts of Marietta, and Leah Williams of Tupelo; two brothers, Jeff Roberts and wife, Pat, of Eggville and Michael Roberts and wife, Rita, of Pontotoc.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Elizabeth Roberts, and Lawrence Blair and Hazel Clark; and his aunt, Kim Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Craig Waddle, Joey Langley, Matthew Pettigo, Ken Gray, David Tate, and Ricky Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Myhand, Thomas Myhand, Ronnie and Jan Sappington, Jerry and Betty Warren; the AvonLea Staff and Residents; and members of East Heights Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 1:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
