PHYLLIS HERREN

Tupelo - Pyllis Gail Herren, 58, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, she was born June 17, 1948 to Christine Beene Herren and the late Clayton Herren. She was a graduate of Mississippi College where she earned a degree in education. She was taught school for ten years and then worked as a bookkeeper for the remainder of her career. She lived in Jackson for more than 20 years before returning to Tupelo. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved her pet cat, Blake.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Sammy Little and Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her mother, Christine Beene Herren of Tupelo; two sisters, Susan Cantrell of Tupelo and Jan McDonough of Pearl; two nieces, Tina Wilson and Robin Cantrell, both of Tupelo; one nephew, Eric Riggs and wife, Tabitha, of Brandon; and five great-nieces .

She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Herren.

Pallbearers will be R.O. Green, Danny Brown, Jason Brown, James Webb, Wayne Turner, and Tommy Collins.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
