PHILLIP HOOD
Mooreville - Phillip Larry Hood, 59, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at home. He was born May 20, 1956 to Haskell Henry and Beatrice Lavelle Montgomery Hood. Phillip was a singer, songwriter and musician. He loved hunting and fishing and flea markets.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wayne Thorn officiating. A graveside will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four sisters; Virginia Dickey and Martha Foster both of Mooreville, Frances Williams (Mack) of Tupelo and Eva Dunn of Nashville, Tennessee; brother Junior Hood of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James, Harrison and Jessie Hood; nieces, Jessica Marcy and Lynn Rushing.
Pallbearers will be nieces and nephews .
Visitation will be 1 - 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
