Evergreen - Robert C. Pete White, 73, died Monday, January 24, 2011, at his residence in the Evergreen Community after a brief illness. A Lee County native, he was born August 8, 1937 to Dennis Elvis and Lois Vernell Raper White. Earlier in his working years he farmed for over 15 years. Later he worked over 35 years with Evans Lumber Company where he retired a number of years ago. He was a member of Richmond Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Richmond Pentecostal Church with Rev. Ricky Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include His wife of 48 years, Pauline Starling White; four sons, Kenneth White (Beth) of Evergreen, Wayne White (Beverly) of Evergreen, Johnny White of Evergreen, Jerry White (Tracey) of Sanatobia; two daughters, Rhonda Ritter (Tim) of Auburn, Tammy McCray (Rickey) of Evergreen; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Brown of Unity; and one half sister, Sara Holland of Shelby County, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Jeremy White.

Pallbearers will be David Dunaway, Mike McCollum, Ronnie Brown, Wesley Brown, Lynn Stults, Johnny Reid, Rickey Hester, Bobby Kelly.

His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Church.
