Pete Seymore

March 19, 1945 — February 1, 2023

James Riley “Pete” Seymore, age 77, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A Lee County native and longtime resident, He was born March 19, 1945 to John Riley Seymore and Virginia Capps Seymore. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Pete worked as a truck driver for many years before his health began to fail. He enjoyed fishing and was a talented woodworker.
Pete leaves behind his son, Allen Seymore and wife, Sandy, of Nettleton; a grandson, Cole Seymore; his sister, Mitzie R. Lanphere of Guntown; nephews, Chris Gist, Kevin Gist, and Timothy Hawkins; and a niece, Tasha Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aurora Seymore; and a brother, Kelly Ray Seymore.
The family will honor Pete’s life with a service at a later date. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
