Pearl Rabinowitz

August 24, 1943 — April 4, 2008

Tupelo - PEARLENE RABINOWITZ, 64, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. A Tupelo native, she was born August 24, 1943 to Addie Lee Mills Thompson and the late Carlos Jackson Thompson. A graduate of Mooreville High School. She was a member of Temple B'Nai Israel. A great lover of music and dancing. She enjoyed writing lyrics and poetry possessing a knack for it. Never short of words she was witty with a wonderful sense of humor. She adored her children and lived every day of her life for them; they were her greatest joy.

A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rabbi Marc Perler officiating. Entombment will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her two daughters, Pam Anderson from Shannon and Nancy Ellis Haywood (Stephen) of Mobile AL; her three sons, Dr. Jason Daniel Rabinowitz (Sally) of Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Matthew Shawn Rabinowitz of Tupelo and Dr. Adam Samuel Rabinowitz of Raleigh, North Carolina; three grandsons, Jonathan Smith and Justin Smith of Shannon and Mattox Haywood of Mobile; two grandaughters, Amber Stokes and Jennifer Pope of Shannon; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Marie Mallette of Saltillo, Marine Garrett of Auburn, Lorene Holcomb (Rev. Joe Holcomb) of Ecru, Corrine Culver of Saltillo and Elizabeth Carpenter of Philadelphia; her mother Addie Lee Thompson; her special friend, Johnny Nichols; a special cousin, Waudine Hines and the father of her children, Dr. Harvey Robert Rabinowitz.

She was preceded in death by her father, one sister and three brothers including Clinton Wade Thompson.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
