Auburn - Thomas Dewey Pearce, Jr., 82, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, he was born October 27, 1927 to Thomas Dewey and Mozell Cayson Pearce. He was a 1946 graduate of Mooreville High School. He worked as a mechanic for 38 years and was the owner of Tom Pearce Garage. He enjoyed traveling extensively both overseas and throughout the United States. He was a member of Auburn Baptist Church and the Adult Men's Sunday School Class.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Auburn Baptist Church with Rev. Bob O'Neal and Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wilma Garner Pearce of Auburn Community; one daughter, Susan Hales (Phillip) of Mooreville; two sons, Donney Pearce (Sherry) of Auburn and David Pearce (Jeanie) of Pontotoc; one sister, Jo Nell Grissom of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Jessica Turner (Matt), McCain Pearce, Lacy Hales, Justin Hales, Cason Pearce (Casey)and Cale Pearce; four great-grandchildren, Rob Turner, Pearce Turner, Hannah Hales, and Jackson Hales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby Pearce and J.B. Pearce.

Pallbearers will be His grandsons, McCain, Cale, and Cason Pearce and Justin Hales

Honorary Pallbearers will be Auburn Baptist Church Adult Men's Class and friends..
