Tupelo - Pauline M. Newcomb, 79, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at her daughters residence after a sudden illness. An Itawamba County native, she was born May 11, 1927 to the late Allen and Dency Ledbetter Johnson. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and spending time with her family. She was a Baptist.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Tracy Quillian officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Mclarty of Brewer, Charlene Ray and Jimmy Gann of Tupelo, Martha Bailey and husband, Jerry, of Palmetto, Nancy Tucker of Tupelo; three sons, Junior Newcomb and wife, Patricia, of Hamilton, Ala., Larry Dale Newcomb and wife, Patty, of Brewer, Carey Dean Newcomb and wife, Judith, of Picayune; one sister, Maxine Gregory of Tupelo; 24 grandchilren; numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Obie Newcomb; a daughter, Opal Payne;a grandson, Tony Parker; a great-granddaughter, and several sisters and brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Parker, Dewayne Bailey, Marty Keith, Cody Keith, Songka Keopradit, Robby Newcomb, and Michael Newcomb.
Visitation will continue Saturday until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
