PAULINE HELMS Auburn - Pauline Helms, 86, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native, she was born July 2, 1926 to Audie Franklin and Sally Addis Bush Cooper. She was married to Homer Helms, who preceded her in death, November, 5, 1990. She had worked many years as a sewing machine operator with Joyner-Fields manufacturing. Pauline was known for her love of flowers, and her artistic painting abilities. Crocheting and working jig-saw puzzles were two of her favorite pasttimes. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them. She was a member of Skyline Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00 Saturday, November 24, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Hutcheson of the Auburn Community; one son, Rex Helms (Diane) of the Auburn Community; two brothers, Kenneth Cooper of Ripley, Dwight Cooper of Tupelo; one sister, Martilla Croft of Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Henderson and Billy Helms; and one daughter, Brenda Cheeks. Visitation will be Noon to service time Saturday, November 24, 2012 at W. E. Pegues on Jefferson Street.
