PAUL MCCULLOUGH

Tupelo - Paul McCullough, 83, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis after a brief illness. A Pontotoc Co. native, he was born October 5, 1922 to the late Charles Thomas and Emma OCallaghan McCullough. A graduate of Pontotoc High School, he soon entered the army and served during World War II in the European Theatre. He was married to Louise Prude McCullough who preceded him in death on August 23, 1991. He was part owner in Tombigbee Electric Supply and founded McCullough Electric Supply, from which he retired in 1988. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and also the Tupelo Home Builders' Association. He enjoyed duck hunting and fishing.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ann Houston Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews, including Martha McCullough Ray, of Pontotoc, Betty Cady of Meridian, Billy McCullough of Tupelo, Becky Floyd of Como, Rosemary Dawkins of Sardis, Millie Higgins of Jackson, Emmy White of Birmingham, AL, Ann Eady of Jacksonville, Fla., Beth Santigato and Sally McCullough, both of Statan Island, NY; Tom McCullough of Dallas, TX; Paula Prude Hopkins, of Memphis, TN; Pamela Prude Williams, of Nashville, TN, Irvin Bryant Prude, Jr. of Springfield, MO, Jennifer Kenneth Jenkins, of Los Angeles, Cindy Hart Mullis and Tanya Ruth Hart, both of Ayden, NC, Gloria Randle Olmsted, of Greenwood; four sisters-in-law, Merle McCullough of Plantersville, Mary Jane McCullough of Tupelo; Eleanor Hart, of Ayden, NC, Dot Randle of Tupelo, one brother-in-law, Buddy Prude of Memphis, TN; 32 great nieces and nephews; and special friend, Betty Crosswhite of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, R. H. , Doug, Bill, James and George McCullough; and an infant sister, Elizabeth.

Pallbearers will be David Hopkins, Chris Williams, Bryant Prude, Bobby Olmsted, Billy McCullough, Greg Ray, Sledge Floyd, and Jimmy Cady.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom McCullough, Robert Crosswhite, Russ Crosswhite, Mark Halbert, Jimmy Dawkins, Joe White, Ray Higgins, and Bob Ray.

Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
