Saltillo- James Paul McCain, at the age of 47, died in the early morning Saturday, November 19, 2022, at his home. Paul was born March 24, 1975, in Lee County to James Ralph McCain and Sandra Kaye Altom McCain. He was raised by his grandparents, Jimmie and Pauline Altom, after his parent’s deaths. In October of 1994, Paul Married, Angie Carter and together they have one son, Brayden. Paul was a longtime manager at Niser Flooring Company. He was passionate about hunting and especially golfing. Every day he would have lunch at the ninth hole at the Bel-Air Golf course and end his day with a round of golf. Paul was very social and enjoyed spending time with friends and family especially his son, Brayden. On November 16, 2022, Paul reaffirmed his faith with baptism in Jesus’ name.
Paul leaves behind his wife, Angie McCain of Saltillo; one son, Brayden McCain; one sister, Christy Jaggers and her husband, Rev. Jason of Mooreville; three uncles, Mike Altom and his wife, Rhonda of Tupelo; Hayes Altom of Tupelo; and Steve McCain of Greenwood; his mother-in-law, Betty J. Carter; sister and brother-in-law, Twana Miller and Brad Carter; several nephews; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; uncle, Ray Altom; aunt, Lou Flannagan; and father-in-law, James S. Carter.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring Paul’s life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Jason Jaggers officiating. Burial will be Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Zach Miller, Tyler Miller, Logan Miller, David Baskins, Austin Altom, Wesley Roberts, and Gavin Earp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Bel-Air Golf Club, Paul’s Hunting Buddies, and Tom Dickey.
