Saltillo - Patti Ann Best, 51, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Chicago native, she was born March 30, 1957 to Thomas and Betty Bowersox Patton. She worked 14 years as a sewing machine operator with Reed's Manufacturing in Tupelo. She was an avid NASCAR/Jimmie Johnson fan and enjoyed flower gardening and yard work. She was an outdoor enthusiast and spent a great part of her free time boating, fishing and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. J. D. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Glenn Best, of Saltillo; two daughters, Jessica Best of Starkville and Chandra Best of Saltillo; two sons, Glenn T. Best and Travis Best both of Saltillo; her father, Thomas Patton of Gurnee, Illinois; two sisters, Pamela Patton of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jacqueline Patton of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Phillip Patton of Phoenix, Arizona; and two grandchildren, Andy (A.J.) Best and Jacie Best both of Saltillo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Bowersox Patton.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Harmon, Chris Wagoner, Fred Anderson, Gerald Henry, Mike Presley and Michael Hamilton and the honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Henry.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2008 at the funeral home.
