Tupelo- Patricia Diana Glass, 52, one of Gods precious angels, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at her residence after an extended illness. A native of Tiptonville, Tenn., she was born December 25, 1956 to William Edward and Gearldean Sanderson Glass. She had lived in the Auburn Community the past three years and worked at the Work Opportunity Research Center in Tupelo. She loved to sing in her church choir at Long View Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, playing with her dolls Jim and Robbie, and dancing.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Longview Baptist Church with Rev. George Steward officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her mother, Gearldean Glass of Tupelo; eight sisters, Brenda Tutor and husband, Herbert, of the Randolph Community, Norma Cook and husband, Wayne, of Tupelo, Glenda Raines and husband Alan and Kathy White and husband, Doyle, all of Pontotoc, Sharlon (Rosie) Bannister of Tupelo, Phyllis McKoin and husband, Jack, of Tupelo, Denise Devaughn and husband, Rickey, of the Egypt Community, and Tracy Burney husband, John, of Pontotoc; two brothers, Wayne Glass of Tupelo and Danny Glass and wife, Zara, of Nettleton.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Edward Glass; two brothers, Cleveland P. "Buck" Glass and William Edward Glass, Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Francis Glass.
Pallbearers will be Ralph White, Justin Bannister, Jason Bannister, Edward Glass, Jack White, Greg Woods, Brent Raines and Brad Raines.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.
