Patsy Taylor

May 14, 1943 – January 4, 2024

After a long-fought battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia, Patsy Taylor’s faith has been made sight! At 80 years old, Ms. Pat walked into glory with Jesus on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Avonlea Assisted Living Home in Tupelo.

Ms. Pat was born to Kelly and Margaret Ann Moore on May 14, 1943.

She was lovingly known as MP by her two surviving daughters, Shay Taylor Hollingsworth of Florence, MS; and Candise Taylor Brown, wife to Jim, of Tupelo, MS.  To these girls she modeled Christ-like character through her selflessness and tender kindness when she became their mother when they were teenagers. She raised them to love Jesus first, serve others, and to never leave the house without polish on their toes!

Ms. Pat is preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Tish Stuckey, Tish’s father, Claude R. Stuckey; Shay and Candise’s father, John P. Taylor; her mother and her father, as well as her only brother, Ricky Moore.

She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren.

She has resided at Avonlea since early spring 2020, where she was so graciously cared for around the clock by her caretakers and nurses; Angela Ezell, Jackie Jones, Nancy Moore, Mandisa Cummins, Malarie McGregory, Mei-Lynn, Atline Washington, Lulu Ezell, Rita Ainsworth, Brandy Floyd, Ms. Donna, Lacey Cromeans, and Lori Bostick. For the past 2 years, Leisha Westbrooke and Teresa Cummings with Shepherd Hospice came alongside the family and caretakers to become Ms. Pat’s biggest advocates. All of these ladies were the hands and feet of Jesus, ministering to the immediate family by loving and caring for Ms. Pat so well. We are so grateful for the love you each have shown our mother.

Visitation for Ms. Pat will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, in the Jefferson Street Chapel at Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo from 2 until 3:45 p.m., with a memorial service following, officiated by Bro. Ron Cottom, at 4 p.m. Ms. Pat will later be laid to rest in Salem Cemetery, near Winona, MS, next to her daughter, Tish.
