Brewer Community--Patricia Ann Tuggle, died December 23, 2022, at her home. She was born on August 18, 1939, in New Albany, the daughter of Rufus Henry Dye and Irmagine Carnathan Dye. On December 27, 1954, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Curry Tuggle; they shared 57 years before his death on February 27, 2012. Pat was best known for nurturing others. She was a longtime beloved owner and operator of Tuggle’s Daycare, where she was affectionately called “Granny Pat” by everyone. She was a master quilter, who took great pride in her quilts and had a natural ability to create unique pieces. Pat also enjoyed vegetable gardening and was an avid vegetable canner. In the early years of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Tupelo, Pat moved her membership and was baptized in the faith in a lake alongside her eldest daughter, Rhonda.
Granny Pat was survived by her three daughters, Rhonda Weaver and her husband, Steve of Shannon, Lynda Jackson and her husband, David of Nettleton, and Carla Stewart of Brewer Community; nine grandchildren, Todd Weaver (Franny), Susan Weaver Britt, Matthew Jackson (Tonya), Rebecca Jackson (Brandon Patterson), Chris Stewart, Cory Tuggle (Eva), Josh Stewart, Chelsey Tuggle, and Ethan Tuggle (Monica); 16 great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Della Mae Mills; and one brother, Rufus Gene Dye (Janice).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Irmagine Dye; husband of 57 years before his death on February 27, 2012, Bob Tuggle; and her son, Randall Curry Tuggle.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring her life will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Elder Tony Lester officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matt Jackson, Todd Weaver, Josh Stewart, Cory Tuggle, Greg Coggin, Zach Britt, Austin Jackson, and Levi Britt.
