P. K. Sanderford

P. K. SANDERFORD Saltillo - Perry King Sanderford, 58, passed from this life in the early hours Monday, July 29, 2013, at his home. He was born January 20, 1955, to Richard Fred Sanderford, Jr. and Opal Laverne Perkins Sanderford. While his contagious smile and quick wit will be greatly missed, he is now resting peacefully with his beloved children. For twenty-four years, he worked tirelessly with TVRHA. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. An avid NASCAR fan, he also loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. George Rogers officiating and reflections from his nephew, Ricky Sanderford. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Rhonda Powell Sanderford of Saltillo; one daughter, Melissa Sanderford of San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter, Gabby Sanderford; one step-daughter, Amy Counce (Phillip) of Guntown; one sister, Carol Sanderford McVay of Plantersville; one brother, Richard Sanderford (Carol) of Olive Branch; his mother and father-in-law, Marie and Lee Felker of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Renee Payne of Tupelo and Hope Wilson (Stacy) of Tupelo; two brothers-in-law, Lynn Powell (Sharon) of Tupelo and Ricky Powell (Michelle) of Dry Creek; a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, R. F. Sanderford, Jr.; his mother, Opal Sanderford; his son, Dewayne Powell; his daughter, Sandra Sanderford; one brother-in-law, David E. Sanderford. Pallbearers will be Ricky Sanderford, Stoney Sanderford, Austin Sanderford, Blake Sanderford, Jason McVay and Perry Paynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Sanderford, Chris Payne, Alex Wilson, Reid Powell, Ricky Powell, Lynn Powell, Adam Hildenbrand, Luke Counce and his co-workers from TVRHA, Saltillo. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
