OPAL M. STEVENS Tupelo - Opal Marie Stevens, 84, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Itawamba County on August 8, 1930, to Donald and Annie Parker Pierce. In 1947, she married the love of her life, G. C. Stevens, and began building a lifetime of memories. She was a longtime employee of Estes Fashion Shop in Houston. Opal was an avid flower gardener and delighted in having an immaculate yard. She was a member of West Main Church of Christ and also frequently attended Mantachie Church of Christ. Opal was a dedicated mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Joe Connell officiating. A graveside service will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Lott (Larry) of Saltillo; one sister, Geneva Flake of Memphis, Tennessee; three granddaughters, Melody Webb (Thomas) of Ankeny, Iowa, Jennifer Boutwell (Billy) of Madison, and Amanda Lott of Madison; five great-grandchildren, Anne Marie Webb, Caleb Webb, Mary Katherine Webb, Chase Boutwell and Abby Blair Boutwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, G. C. Stevens in 2006; and two brothers, Ravon Pierce and Ernest Pierce. Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
