Opal Earlean Reynolds

April 17, 1926 — March 4, 2019

Opal Earlean Reynolds, 92, passed away peacefully Monday, March 4, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House. A native of Saltillo, she was born April 17, 1926. She graduated from Saltillo High School and attended Itawamba Junior College. In 1957, Opal married the love of her life, Murry Laird Reynolds and they shared 42 years together. They lived in a number of places while he served in the Army and the Air Force and especially enjoyed their time in Alaska and Hawaii. Opal was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the NRA.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Sue Vaughn; three nieces, Ann Crenshaw, Rita Crenshaw Shacklett and Brenda Barrett; and several great nieces and nephews.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Flora Mae Crenshaw; husband, Laird Reynolds; brother, James Robert "Jim" Crenshaw; two uncles, Hugh & Gene Crenshaw; and niece, Cynthia Vaughn Hankins.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, March 7, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring her life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
