OPAL GOFF PEARSON
Tupelo - Johnny Opal Goff Pearson, 89, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Baldwyn Nursing Facility. A Lee County native, she was born December 16, 1916 to the late John and Annie Smith Deaton. She was married to Clarence E. Goff who preceded her in death February 27, 1967. In addition to raising seven children, she was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of Skyline Church of Christ.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. L.D. Willis officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include three daughters, Lorraine Berry of Michie, Tenn., Jeraldine Wages of Sulphur Springs, Tex., Shirley Lymer of Trenton, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Goff-Brummett (Pete), of Oxford; two sons, Clarence E. "Buddy" Goff (Margaret) of Tupelo, and Jacky Goff(Brenda) of Unity; two sisters, Estelle Goff of Skyline and Edith (J.W.) Sanders of Corinth; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchldren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence E. Goff, the father of her children, and Monroe Pearson; one daughter, Alene Franks; one son, Johnny Paul Goff; her sons-in-law, L.C. Berry, Charles (Bud) Franks, Tom (Sonny) Wages, and Dr. Ted Lymer and one brother, Art Lee Deaton; several half-brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Berry, Steven Franks, Tommy Wages, Madonald Wages, Sandy Wages, Ted Lymer, Phil Goff, Paul Goff, and Kevin Goff.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
