OPAL KING
Tupelo - OPAL CHRISTINE KING, 90, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native, she was born August 26, 1916 to the late Everette Arthur and Etta Mullinnex Bailey. She worked for many years as a beautician. She was a faithful and dedicated member of East Heights Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was a charter member of the V.I.P Club and sang in the choir. She was the widow of Sam T. King who preceded her in death June 16, 1995.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jason Marlin and Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Plantersville Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Thomas King and wife, Cathy, of Natchitoches, La.; one sister, Sybil Bailey of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Nicole Britt and husband, Shawn, of Shreveport, La., Natalie Dziczkowski, and husband, Tony, of San Antonio, Tex.; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Britt, Chandler Britt, and Ethan Dziczkowski.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sam T. King; two brothers, Trenton Bailey and William Henry Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Palmer, Nick Humber, Gwin Berryhill, Shawn Britt, Kelly Thompson, Anthony Dziczkowski, and Dan Johnson
Her Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
