OPAL BOYD Belden - Opal Leigh Boyd, 92, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Martin House at the Greenhouses. She was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi on November 16, 1920 to Daniel and Omer Guess McMillen. She loved gardening and keeping children in her home and all were special to her. She was a member of Belden Baptist Church for about sixty-five years. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Don Baggett and Rev. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery in Pontotoc County. Survivors include her children, Danny Boyd of Belden and Doris Page (Jerry) of Belden; her grandchildren, Michael Boyd of Hattiesburg and Toni Page of Belden; her sisters, Ann Wilburn of Ballardsville and Ruth Reece of Mooreville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Boyd, her father, Daniel McMillen; her mother, Omer McMillen McDonald; her brothers, Audie, Edd and Johnny McMillen; her daughter-in-law, Linda Boyd; her step-father, Trann McDonald. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
