OPAL LEA BENNETT
Saltillo - Opal Lea Bennett, 79, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Tremont, she was born February 4, 1927 to the late Wilburn F. and Jesker Mae Lewis Bennett. She moved to Tupelo with her family in 1946 and then to Saltillo in 1949, where she had lived on the family farm since that time. She was employed at Malone & Hyde for over 35 years until she retired to care for her mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saltillo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Ken Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include a brother, Jimmy C. Bennett of Saltillo.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
