Oline McKissack

December 25, 1919 — February 24, 2014

OLINE MCKISSICK Tupelo - Lila Oline McKissick, 94, went to be with the Lord Monday, February 24, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A Lee County native, she was born December 25, 1919, to Otha Cratis and Ora Elaine Morgan Mullenix. After graduating from Saltillo High School, she married Bill Clarence McKissick and together began building a lifetime of memories. An industrious woman, she worked for many different companies, including Playcraft, Bluebell, Page's Grocery, Jitney Jungle and Mississippi Samples, until she retired at the age of 85. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tupelo. She was a wonderful cook, loved to read, work crossword puzzles and travel. She was a wonderful mother, with a great personality, who loved and adored her family and friends and was loved in return. A celebration of her life will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Frankie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery. Survivors include her children, Billy Perry McKissick (Faye) of Iuka; Betty Jo Stacks of the Ballardsville Community, Jerry Cratis "Hoppy" McKissick (Bonnie) of the Unity Community and Corinne Keith (Kenny) of Belden; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her best friend, Ruby Sherfey; and her caregiver, Shelia Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Clarence McKissick in October of 1968; one daughter, Sharon Elaine McKissick in July 27, 2013; one great-granddaughter, Kylie Elizabeth Stephens in May of 2004; one son-in-law, L. C. Stacks in April of 2008; and a best friend, Lena Parker. Pallbearers will be Prentice Lanphere, Johnny Timmons, Morris McCain, Marty Stacks, Tracy Stacks and Stacy Stacks. Kenny Keith and Don Austin will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the funeral home in Tupelo.
