BUNCH GARDNER

Shannon - O.H. ?Bunch? Gardner, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at his home in Shannon, MS after a short illness. He was born January 29, 1920, in the Springhill Community to Exer and Maude Gardner. Bunch was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945 after serving 6 years with 3 years in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After returning home, he used his heavy equipment experience in the Army to build a career in heavy construction. Working with several road construction companies, he helped build many of the roads in North Mississippi. Later he owned his own bulldozer business. He was known to love a good trade on almost anything.

His retirement years found him in his shop and enjoying morning coffee at the ?round table?, first at Nonie?s and later Griggs. Some of Bunch?s happiest times were spent frying fish for family and friends in his black pots.

He was a member of First Baptist Church Shannon and for years helped cook for the Brotherhood Breakfast.
