Tupelo - Nola Holcomb Berryman, 99, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at The Green Houses At Traceway after a brief illness. A longtime resident of Plantersville, she was born December 4, 1908 in Pontotoc County to the late Robert Wesley and Frances Parilee Cooper Holcomb. She was employed at Reed Manufacturing and Hunter Sadler from which she retired. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed quilting. She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church of Plantersville where she served in mission projects and many different areas of her church ministry.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Balint and Rev. Mike Brazeal officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy B. Watson (Raymond) of Bude; one son, Jesse B. Berryman Jr. (Guilene) of Nettleton; five grandchildren, Beverly Harden (Jackie) of Amory, John L. Roberts (Sara) of Denham Springs, La., Willene Riley (David) of Nettleton, Benton Berryman, III (Marty) of Shannon, and Rebecca Murphy (Audie) of Nettleton; nine great-grandchildren, Robin Buchanan, John Roberts, Amileigh Shattuck, Clint Roberts, Martha Lane Wood, Jesse Berryman, IV, Blake Berryman, Eden Murphy, Adrien Murphy, and five great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Flossie Monts and Carrie Kelly of Plantersville, Gray Collier of Brewer; and one brother, Robert Holcomb, Jr. of Nettleton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse B. Berryman, Sr., who died in 1936; two brothers, Delma Holcomb and Birdell Holcomb; two sisters, Nellie Holcomb and Farrar Monts.
Pallbearers will be Hilton Peters, Herbert Carroll, Steve Wilemon, Marty Davis, C.L. Bucy, Phil Griffin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Williams, Dewey Davis, and Joe Loden.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
