NELLIE IRENE COGGINS
Tupelo - Nellie Coggins, 94, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A Saltillo native, she was born November 5, 1912 to the late Will W. and Minnie Lee Inmon McKissick. She was retired from Purnell's Pride. She was a member of Eggville Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Beverly Thomason; three grandchildren, Kimberly J. Mixon, Joe M. Thomason, Jr., and Andrea M. Surrette and husband, Jessie; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Thompson, Leia Mixon, Kelly Jones, Katy Thomason, Seth Surrette, and Lily Surrette; six nieces, Francis Herring, Shirley Ratliff, Betty Grace, Joan Chevez, Fay Knotton, and Joice Ann Smith; and four nephews, Stan McKissick, Dale McKissick, Merle Hicks, and Jimmy Hicks; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell B. Coggins; one son, Joe M. Thomason, Sr.; one great-grandson, Joe M. Thomason, III.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
