Saltillo- Vern Nell Moore at the age of 69 died after a short illness on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at her son’s home in Fulton. She was born on July 20, 1954, to Jesse Blocker and Mildred Kathryn Oldham Blocker. Nell was a devoted caretaker and especially enjoyed molding the young minds of children. She spent her career in child development working at many daycares throughout Tupelo. Nell was a faithful Christian who enjoyed studying His word. She and her husband are members of Wheeler Chapel Church. Nell was extremely artistic and could often be found drawing or painting.

Nell leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Mike Moore of Saltillo; four children, Tyra Turner (Kenny) of Fulton, Aletha Justice of Belden, Michael Moore (Teresa) of Belden, and Coty Moore of Fulton; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Charles Blocker (Tami) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Judy Porche’ (John) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Theresa Vasquez (Tommy) of Wichita Falls, Texas, Janice Moore (Mark) of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lisa Jentsch of Waco, Texas, Charlotte Blocker of Conroe, Texas, Gene Blocker of Tucson, Arizona, and Monty Blocker of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.

A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Sunday October 29, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Robert Ellis officiating.
