Nell Haley

Tupelo - NELL (PUD) HALEY, 85, died Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Residence after an extended illness. A Paris, Tenn. native, she was born September 3, 1921 to the late John Austin and Nell Hagan Richardson. She was the widow of B.L. Haley who died in May 1999. In her earlier years, she and the late Mr. Bill Leach, principal of Milam Junior High School, formed the first Tupelo Parent Teachers Association for which she served as president for several years. She was a den mother for the Cub Souts of America and was active in the Girl Scouts of America as a Troop Leader for twelve years. She enjoyed gardening and an avid reader. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Prather officiating. Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Austin Haley and wife, Jane of Houston, Texas; her grandson, Boothe Austin Haley and wife, Ginger; her great-grandchildren, Bo, Warner, and Skylar of Tupelo; and her nieces and nephews, Patti Abbott, Linda Antiss, Katie Laur, Jackie Thompson, Steve Warner, Keith Warner and Sandra Wygoscki.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home
