Nelda Fikes Gullick

NELDA FIKES GULLICK TUPELO- Nelda Sue Fikes Gullick, 93, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at her home. She was born in Fulton on April 7, 1921 to Luther and Lonnie Ella Fikes. She and her late husband, A.N. Guillick, had resided in East Tupelo since 1953. A dedicated member of East Heights Baptist Church, she was involved in the Women's Mission Union and a faithful volunteer there. She was also a longtime member of East Heights Garden Club. She was a sales lady at McGaughy's, Red Rooster, and, in later years, she delighted in helping her granddaughter at Silly Simpson's. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. Services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014, at East Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Brown and Dr. Tim Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 P.M. at the church. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors, Tupelo is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Estes (Charlie); two granddaughters, DeAnna Wooten Russell (Dave) and Kenzie Estes Bland (Patrick); one great- grandson, Tyler Russell, all of Tupelo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Bernice Mason and Jewel Bonds and one brother, Grady Fikes. Pallbearers will be Hoyt Curbow, Charles Davis, Danny Hester, Nick Humber, Buddy Palmer and John Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Heights Baptist Church, 405 Lake Street, Tupelo, MS 38804.
