SALTILLO - Nannie Elizabeth Cowley, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at the Whitfield Nursing Home in Corinth after a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Summerall to E .C. Easterling and Eloise Mixon Easterling. She was a long time resident of Saltillo. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltillo. She was a U.S. Navy veteran, Wave Division. She loved reading her cookbooks and sharing her favorite recipes. She loved working word-find books.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell and Dr. Randy Bostick officiating. Burial will be in the Saltillo Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Iris Cummins and Ronnie of Corinth; three sons, Robert Harold Cowley and Dawn of Manchester, Tenn., David Cowley and Randall Cowley, both of Saltillo; one sister, Georgia Easterling of Summerall; one sister-in-law, Juanita Waters of Saltillo; the father of her children, Robert Cowley of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren, Cynthia Cummins and Rebekah Cummins of Corinth, Amanda Mattox and Greg of Madison, Ala., Michael Cowley and Loretta of Decatur, Ala., and Melissa Cowley and Allie Cowley of Manchester, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Jean Cowley; two brothers, Bobby Easterling and an infant brother; and a sister, Alice Easterling Lofton.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Neaves, W.T. Bumpers, Mike Miller, Ron Burcham, Mike Stanford and Rex Smith.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Saltillo Chapel.
