Nancy Beck

NANCY BECK Mooreville - Nancy Jane Beck, 73, passed away on April 30, 2015, at her residence. She was born on February 9, 1942, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and was the daughter of John and Gladys Hoppa Peterson. She graduated from Omro High School in 1960 and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Robert "Bob" Beck on February 8, 1964. She was an extraordinary, amazing and supportive wife and mother, and a loving, compassionate grandmother. While living in Oshkosh she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom before working for Cook & Brown Concrete for 4 years. She was also an active leader for the Winnebago County 4-H and enjoyed volunteering for the school library. She moved to El Paso, TX in 1984, where she worked for the City of El Paso in the purchasing department as an accounting clerk, III for 16 years. While living in El Paso she enjoyed being the scorekeeper for her sons and daughters sports teams. She moved to Mooreville, MS in 2001 and was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church. She loved to play the piano, online computer games, and keeping up with family via Skype and Facebook. Some of her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Robert Beck; daughters, Michelle Clifton of Mooreville, MS, Cynthia Krueger of Katy, TX, and Janet Rager of Nettleton, MS; sons, Michael Beck (Delilah) of Mooreville, MS and Daniel Beck of Pflugerville, TX; grandchildren, Sean Baldwyn (Nikki), Christopher Beck (Carmen), Mike Clifton (Jennifer), Valarie Clifton, Krista Clifton, Jennifer Clifton, Redlin Krueger, Nathaniel Krueger, Alexandra Rager, Nolan Beck and Maddux Beck; great-grandchildren Caleb and Brady Clifton and Kadi and Leah Baldwyn; sisters, Patricia Lane (Carl) of Willis, TX, Phyllis Becker of Oshkosh, WI, Jeanne Pobanz (Alvin) of Waupun, WI, Susan Taubel (Dan) of Scottsdale, AZ; brothers, John Peterson (Verna) of Terre Haute, IN, David Peterson of Oshkosh, WI, and Jeffrey Peterson (Luan) of Oshkosh, WI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Hackbarth; one granddaughter, Tiffany Baldwyn; one son-in-law, James "Clif" Clifton; one sister-in-law, Betty Frank; two brothers-in-law, Michael Becker and Rexford Beck. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2015,at St. James Catholic Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Services are entrusted to Pegues Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Beck, Dan Beck, Al Pobanz, Sean Baldwyn, Chris Beck and Brian Pobanz.
