Shannon - NADINE CLARDY, 69, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of the Bigbee Community in Monroe County, she was born July 31, 1938 to the late Howard MCGrew and Emily Lucille Parchman Gaines. She was a longtime resident of Shannon. She loved to sing Gospel music and was an excellent song writer. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shannon.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Lewis Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include three sons, David Harmon of Tremont, Philip Harmon of Saltillo, and Kenneth Clardy of Tupelo; two sisters, Doris Causey of Verona and Lois Seymore and husband, Robert of Shannon; five brothers, James Gaines of Verona, Waymon Gaines and wife, Rachel, of Brewer, Larry Gaines and wife, Mary, of Odenville, Ala., Richard Gaines and wife, Marilyn, of Pulaski, Tenn., and Glen Gaines of Memphis, Tenn; four grandchildren, Shanen and Katie Harmon, Kymberly and Kyle Clardy .
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Shirley Mauldin; and two brothers, Billy and Milton Gaines.
Pallbearers will be Duane Parchman, John Mauldin, Shanan Bone, Terry Sellers, David Phillips and Chase Gaines.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
