MYRTLE ETHEL TAYLOR

Tupelo - Myrtle Ethel Taylor, 88, died Monday, October 30, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Mississippi native, she was born September 7, 1918 to the late John W. and Annie Mae Bearden West. She retired as the director of the Lee County Civil Defense. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell offciating. Burial will be in Brewer Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Homan of Brewer and Maylene White of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Homan and wife, Sarah, of Natchez, Marlena White of Batesville, and Jonathan Homan of Brewer; two great-granddaughters, Emma and Madeline Homan of Natchez; three sisters, Martha Sisk of Wheeler, Agnes Herndon and husband, James, of Verona, and Jane Stacy and husband, Maurice, of Brewer; and one brother, John West, Jr., of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husabnd of 33 years, Lester Lee Taylor; two sons-in-law, Rodney Homan and Ray White; and one brother, Hassel West.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
