TUPELO - Myrtle C. Hutcheson, 99, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A Union County native, she was born July 3, 1908, to the late Richard Albert and Eva Belle Long Campbell. She was a member of the Northeast Church of Christ. She loved to read her Bible, playing dominoes with her grandkids and visiting with her friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Harold Blane and Bro. Elmore Wilson officiating. Jim Allen will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Moore of Tupelo and Vance Simmons (Leon) of Saltillo; three sons, Jesse Carter (Mary) of Olive Branch, James "Buck" Hutcheson (Alana) of Memphis and Bill Hutcheson of Truman, Ark.; one brother, Leroy Campbell of Belden; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Hutcheson; one son, Auris "Bud" Lee; one daughter, Barbara Hester; three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Derek Burleson, Jared Burleson, Brandon Leslie, Britt Leslie, Delayne Hester and Bobby Campbell.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Hutcheson, Dr. Norris Crump, Dr. Ricky Parker and Johnny Burleson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
