GENE MORLEY BOGGS Tupelo - Gene Morley Boggs, age 86, passed away, October 13, 2014. She was born October 19, 1927, in Cleveland to George William Morley and Pauline Janous Morley. She was a retired school teacher, teaching 34 years, with 20 of them at Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, Mississippi. Gene was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo. She also enjoyed being a part of the Merry Makers, VIP and Young at Heart. She loved to play Canasta with friends at Bel-Air Country Club and East Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Larry and his wife Mary Sue of Fulton; one grandson, Taylor; one sister Mary Lou Marco and her husband, Joe of Tampa, Florida; one brother-in-law, W. E. Boggs and his wife Gwen of Tupelo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Harmon; two children, Linda Kay and Billy George; one sister, Ann Morley; two aunts, Mildred Brock and Lucille Hays. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Mississippi. Pallbearers will be W. E. Boggs, Brad Boggs, Dennis Hawkins, Kenyon "Ken" Knapp, Kevin Erwin and Taylor Boggs.
