MONEZ HAAS ROBERTS

Tupelo - CORA MONEZ HAAS ROBERTS, 95, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness. A Lee Co. native, she was born March 4, 1911 to the late Rev. James Melvin and Grace Frances Reese Haas. She worked for Blue Bell Industries and was the manager of Rankin Elementary School Cafeteria. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-granchildren, growing flowers, and her church work. She was a member of Tupelo Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Tupelo Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Henry A. Roberts of Tupelo; a son, Wilford Roberts and wife, Betty, of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Fred McDonald and wife, Holly, of Knoxvile, Tenn., Lynn Still and husband, Malcolm, of New Albany, Cindy Cox and husband, Wright, of Collierville, Tenn., Anita Key and husband, Dana, of Collierville, Tenn., Don Roberts and wife, Mary Ruth, of Tupelo, and Mark Roberts and wife, Angela, of Tupelo; 18 great-granchildren; two sisters, Pearl Thompson of Gadsden, Ala., Faye Carson, of Oxford; two brothers, Wayne Haas of Tupelo, Rev. Joe Haas of Goldsboro, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Ray Roberts, one daughater, Geneva McDonald; two brothers, Ozell Haas and Oliver Haas; three sisters, Irene Pierce, Nell White, and Marie Morris.

Pallbearers will be Her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Fred McDonald, Don Roberts, Mark Roberts, Malcolm Still, Wright Cox, and Dana Key.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons..

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006.
