Mitchell L. Sisk

Old Union Community - Mitchell Louis Sisk, 90, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice. He was born November 3, 1924, to Bruce and Alma Holmes Sisk. Mitchell was a lifetime farmer and loved farming and the land. He was a very patient and loving man. Mitchell loved the Lord, going to church, and his family. He was a long-time member of Old Union Baptist Church and a deacon for 50 years. Services celebrating Mitchell's life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Rev. Marvin Murphy and Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating. A graveside service will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Shannon. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years, Grace King Sisk; one son, Paul and daughter-in-law Brenda of Old Union Community; one daughter, Derise Johnson and son-in-law Terry of Carr Acres; four grandchildren, Misty Carroll (Jay), Alex Johnson, Melanie White (Kevin), and Julianne Lyle (Scott); eight great-grandchildren, Caleb Carroll, Layla Carroll, Dalton Bullard, Dylan Johnson, Braxton Johnson, Lanie White, Levi White, and Lawson White. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters, Kate Ellis, Buck Sisk, Louise Longest, George Sisk, Allen Sisk, and Frank Sisk; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his long-time caretaker, Connie Stigers for her patience and compassion. Pallbearers will be Alex Johnson, Jay Carroll, Scott Lyle, Kevin White, Bruce Sisk, and Joe Allen Sisk. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
